At ASPIRE Cairns, our training philosophy is rooted in long-term athlete development. We believe in nurturing athletes through every stage of their journey, focusing on sustainable growth, technical mastery, and mental resilience. Our program isn’t just about training harder—it’s about training smarter.

The Squad

Our squad consists of athletes aged 14+, whose primary sport is athletics, aiming to improve and compete at state, national, or international levels. We also welcome athletes from other sports who are looking to enhance their speed, agility, and overall athletic performance. Training sessions are held mainly at Barlow Park and St Mary’s, with occasional sessions at various locations around Cairns.

Focus toward the specific demands of mid-distance and distance events. Training is designed to build strong aerobic capacity while incorporating race-specific sessions that develop the endurance, strength, and efficiency needed to perform at peak levels over longer distances.

Focused on explosive speed, acceleration, and maximum velocity development. Training emphasizes power, reaction time, and sprint mechanics with high-intensity efforts over short distances, designed to optimize speed.

Tailored for athletes competing in events that demand both speed and speed endurance. Sessions balance sprint mechanics with anaerobic capacity work, focusing on maintaining form and speed under fatigue while managing training loads effectively.

Ideal for athletes whos primary sport is Athletics and targeting national-level competition

  • Three squad sessions per week + two gym session

  • Access to recovery tools (compression boots, massage gun, etc.)

  • Coach attendance at major championships (State/Nationals) at no extra cost

  • Access to Nike team apparel (additional cost)

We know that every athlete has different goals and levels of commitment, which is why a one-size-fits-all membership doesn’t work. Our membership options are designed to be flexible, allowing us to support each athlete's unique needs and aspirations.

Fees are paid per school term and includes the school holiday period following that term.
